From magazines to apps and websites
I moved to New York City from Massachusetts after college and started my career at Self magazine as an editorial fashion assistant. I went on to Good Housekeeping, where I wrote about pantyhose, pumpkin wreaths, and bed sheets.
After earning an MBA and running a health club for 3 years, I went back to magazines as a full-time freelance copy editor for magazine clients, like Vogue, Glamour, and Rolling Stone.
I graduated from copy editor to copy chief to managing editor, leading a large cross-functional team of writers, editors, designers, and production associates.
My experience in magazines helped me develop the skills that make me a great UX writer and content strategist—developing a clear voice and tone, collaborating with design and other teams, creating concise content in a limited amount of space, and maintaining consistent and grammatically correct copy.
